The ability to analyze charts on investments is absolutely critical to understanding how to invest. However, that discussion is based on colors of candlessticks and lines. The problem is that there are no colors in the book, all of the candlesticks and lines are black or grey. That additional need to trading or adjust for the lack of color just makes it more difficult to understanf the points being made.

There is options information in the book, but colored charts would have been nice. I start that would make the book more expensive, but the charts are critical to overall understanding. It options NOT deal with SELLING calls or puts, but none of her promotional materials alert you to those limitations up front. When I complained to her about that lack of coverage, she called it a "misunderstanding", but offered no refund; I call it an "intentional marketing omission" that she doesn't alert potential customers about what strategies her several books do NOT cover. If you're looking at getting out of the trading and starting a side business which will grow slowly to make a seriously strong income stream, this is a great choice as a start up manual for options trading. There is a significant amount of complex information which will require several reads to absorb - so much so that I found it very hard going at times, and I trade options weekly as my side business.

One glaring omission is the very simple system I started with, selling cash-secured puts and covered calls, which made me my first hundred thousand in profits over three years. Read this book at least five times, from cover to cover. When you have done that, then start researching.

It was late After all, if they understood markets, shouldn't they all be rich? I read books, articles, anything I could find to learn about how the markets worked and different approaches to investing. I discovered there are many "markets," but an even greater number of alleged strategies to extract money from those markets.

Options needed to find a niche. At the time, I didn't question those results. It seemed trustworthy because Wendy seemed trustworthy. She would decide which trades to make and those trades would be executed in my account via auto-trade. It seemed like a sound investment. After all, Wendy literally wrote a book on options trading. I believed at the time that she could make thousands of dollars per month trading options. But I didn't time to sit back as a passive observer during those 12 months either.

I was planning on tracking her trades to try and learn the "how and why" behind her trading decisions. I thought that I too could learn to be a successful trader and take over my account after those 12 months. Much to my dismay, I never learned how to trade profitably over those 12 months from Wendy, because she rarely had a profitable trade.

Don't trust a "trader" without a proven track record of profitability from actual real-time trading, not hypothetical trading. Ask options copies of their brokerage statements. And options read disclaimers. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Common sense advice, of course, but greed is a very funny thing. It has the ability to make the most irrational decisions seem rational.

Despite the loss, I consider it to be a blessing in disguise. I've become a self-taught trader over the past two years, and I have traded my own account ever since. In my opinion, this book is a waste of money. There are many others written by traders with proven track records of consistent profits through even turbulent markets.

By Kehlargo on May 11, I'm not a huge fan of technical analysis and that is the centerpiece of this book. If that is what you are looking for, then you will be happy with this book. I found a much better primer on options at the OIC education website, where they offer FREE online classes, podcasts and videos for beginners on up [ I also agree with a previous reviewer that this should not be purchased for the kindle.

The charts are impossible to read on the kindle and since this book is primarily concerned with reading those tea leaves, you simply cannot follow along properly. This book is not only for women, it is a great must read for anyone interested in Option Trading. It presents Wendy's strategies and what to look for to make a decision to pull the trigger or not.

The only reason I did not give a 5 star rating is that the charts would have been better in color than black and white, and what she describes in her writing could have used some chart annotations as to which candle she is referring to.

Maybe it's me, I always like to see the chart on the same page which it is being described instead of flipping pages. Otherwise, a must read for any wannabe option trading.
