I have a PS4 that has system having some issues off and system with the system shutting off. If I trade it in can that come back to system me in any way? Or for that matter, does EB take consoles they know are defective? They will send it to their refurbish center to be wiped and repaired, then resold. Thing is I've traded consoles in before and they weren't check before I left the store.

Those were all in perfect condition though. I was more or less wondering if when it does eventually get tested will they be calling me to come in or anything?

I'm an employee at a US store, and it's never done at a later date. Well, I am in Canada. What do they check exactly? Just that it powers on? The problem doesn't happen often. I've just had nothing but problems with Sony and I'm sick and games of dealing with them I have traded in both a Wii U, and a PS3 and neither were tested while I was there so I'm not sure system that would be.

I traded in my Xbox with a broken disc tray. They didn't even turn it on they just took it right there without plugging it in or anything. They charged me 75 trade refurb fee when I traded in my wii u. They said it trade light scratches on the console itself. I could see if trade were deep or serious scratches but they were only minor scratches.

Very little in that regard near where I live unfortunately. I'm also just sick of dealing with Sony system I can't really afford to pay their fees to send it in right now either. I'd just try it, they usually check the eject disk function and if it powers on.

After you leave I don't think they are gonna call you if they paid you too much. Make your transaction for your trade in in the trade purchase. It only has to boot properly when they check games and they'll usually take it. I had a busted xbox I traded in for full games this way. Never heard from them about it. They just threw a game in games and booted it to the title screen. Might've had to do with what generation it was.

Games used to have a major issue with the lasers misaligning after awhile because of bad disc drives. But also might be standard practice, idk.
